Greetings and Welcome to
Edmonds Lodge No. 165,
Free and Accepted Masons
of the Grand Lodge of Washington
Thank you for being interested
enough in Masonry and Edmonds Lodge No. 165 to visit our
website. I know how busy our existence is these days. I
know if you are taking time to read this you are paying
Freemasonry a compliment. So thank you in advance for
proceeding on.
Edmonds Lodge No. 165 is a regular
lodge under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Grand
Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Washington. It is, as
all Masonic Lodges are, dedicated to making good men better,
being a powerful force for good and peace in our society. We
are men dedicated to our families, our country, and the
needs of our brothers.
A few notes to help you along if you
are unfamiliar with Freemasonry. The word Worshipful is an
old English word that means “deserving of respect”. The term
Worshipful Master refers to the elected leader of the lodge.
The term Master refers to that position in the same sense as
a ships master refers to the ships captain.
We have no “masters” other than
Masters of the Craft of Brotherhood and Friendship and all
Masons worship according to their own religions. We don’t
offer salvation in any form. We do offer the best and
oldest fraternity in the United States and the world. One
thing that every man should know is that no one will ask you
to join. We prefer that men be attracted to our fraternity
rather than being asked to join. So if you have been waiting
for your father, brother, best friend, etc to ask you to
join please ask them, just say “How do I become a Mason”
those words will do the job nicely. If you don’t know a
Mason to ask please call us or send us an e-mail.
Freemasons are charged to be
amiable, discreet, and virtuous. It is said that when a man
is a good Mason the world may know that he is one to whom
the burdened heart may pour out its sorrow, to whom distress
may prefer its suit, whose hand is guided by justice, and
whose heart is expanded by benevolence. In plain language
that means we are the good guys.
If you are a Mason and are looking
in on Edmonds No. 165 or are looking for a lodge please come
and join us, stick around, kick the tires, have some dinner.
I think you’ll like us. If you are a man 18 years of age or
older and of good character please come and joins us. You’ll
be happy you did.
